Bengaluru, Feb 10 (NationPress) The Adani Defence and Aerospace Pavilion is presenting a variety of defence systems, including unmanned aerial vehicles, ISR detector systems, and a comprehensive selection of ammunition from small calibre rounds for light machine guns to artillery shells and missiles, at Aero India 2025, which commenced here on Monday.
Ashok Wadhawan, Head of Land System, Defence and Aerospace at Adani Group, informed IANS that the pavilion has received a positive reception for its products, which are being developed for both Indian defence forces and international markets. He noted that both domestic and foreign attendees are expressing significant interest in their offerings.
“Adani Defence and Aerospace stands as a key player in India's defence and aerospace manufacturing landscape, propelled by a vision to establish India as a hub for world-class defence and aerospace production,” Wadhawan stated.
He emphasized that the Adani Group possesses the capacity to both manufacture and design defence products from the ground up. The group is also leveraging AI within its design centers to create innovative products, including various sizes of drones intended for enemy detection and attack, already deployed at the borders for national security.
Wadhawan disclosed that the group is developing a complete line of drones ranging from small units capable of carrying half a kg of loitering explosives to long-range strategic drones that can transport up to 16 kg of explosives over distances of 200 km. These drones can remain airborne for up to eight hours at altitudes of 15,000 feet. Additionally, the group is engineering a submarine drone designed to remain submerged for 15 days to monitor enemy activities.
Furthermore, Wadhawan mentioned that the group is exhibiting vehicle-mounted drones capable of detecting enemy drones from 15 km away and neutralizing them from a distance of 10 km.
Adani Defence is collaborating with DRDO to transform aircraft into airborne surveillance systems, described as an ‘eye in the sky’ version, he added.
Adani Defence is also engaged in the production of a wide array of ammunition, from small calibre rounds for light machine guns to medium and heavy artillery shells of 155 mm for the Indian Army, as well as for export, according to Wadhawan.
In addition, the group is manufacturing missiles as part of its ammunition offerings, which include surface-to-air missiles, he noted.
The Adani Group has developed cutting-edge technology in ISR detector systems, which are sensors designed to collect intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance data, effectively gathering information about enemy forces, terrain, and activities, thus enhancing military situational awareness.
Wadhawan further mentioned that the Adani Group’s vision is in line with the 'Make in India' initiative and the 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' philosophy.
This marks the third consecutive participation for Adani Defence and Aerospace in Aero India, indicating a very encouraging response on the global stage, he concluded.
