Adani Defence Delivers Second Drishti-10 Drone to Indian Navy to Strengthen Maritime Security

New Delhi, Dec 4 (NationPress) To enhance the nation’s maritime surveillance capabilities, Adani Defence and Aerospace has delivered a second Drishti-10 Starliner surveillance drone to the Indian Navy.

The Drishti-10 Starliner drone, also referred to as a UAV, is produced by Adani Defence and Aerospace, part of the Adani Group based in Hyderabad. This advanced intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) platform boasts 36 hours of endurance and a 450-kg payload capacity.

As per sources involved in the development, the integration of the second UAV, which is a variant of Israel's Hermes 900 medium-altitude long-endurance UAV, into naval maritime operations commenced at Porbandar in Gujarat.

This follows the earlier delivery of the first Drishti-10 drone to the Indian Navy earlier this year.

This event signifies the inaugural incorporation of such sophisticated payload suites onto a Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) platform, granting the Indian Navy enhanced capabilities to dominate maritime surveillance. MALE refers to a UAV that can operate at altitudes ranging from 10,000 to 30,000 feet.

Earlier in June, Adani Defence had also delivered the Drishti-10 Starliner to the Indian Army, which will deploy it at its base in Bhatinda, Punjab, to monitor the western border with Pakistan.

The Drishti-10 Starliner is the sole unmanned military platform with NATO ‘STANAG 4671’ certification, allowing military UAVs to operate within the airspace of other NATO member nations.

It features four hard points on its wings and a spacious internal bay designed for special missions. The Drishti-10 Starliner offers over-the-horizon, persistent multi-payload capabilities, fully autonomous operations, and SATCOM-based functionalities.

This UAV is recognized as the country’s only indigenous model, reliably operating above 32,000 feet with a substantial payload capacity and notably long endurance.

Adani Defence and Aerospace is credited with numerous 'firsts', including being India’s first private sector military UAV manufacturer exporting to global markets and establishing India’s first private small arms manufacturing facility, thereby fostering a domestic defence ecosystem.
