Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Nagpur, Feb 6 (NationPress) Jeet Adani, the Director of Adani Defence and Aerospace, emphasized on Friday that Vidarbha is pivotal to India's energy narrative, highlighting that the Adani Group's involvement in the region transcends mere transactions; it is about long-term commitment.
During the 'Advantage Vidarbha 2026' event, Jeet Adani stated that the Adani Group aims to bolster energy security, generate quality employment, support community upliftment, and fortify India’s economic base.
“Our investments are in line with three national goals—advancing India’s clean and reliable energy future, establishing integrated industrial and logistics frameworks, and fostering inclusive growth for communities and the youth,” remarked Jeet Adani, who also holds the position of Director for Adani Airports.
At Tiroda, “we run Maharashtra’s most extensive and technologically advanced 3,300 MW supercritical power plant, constructed to meet the highest global standards for efficiency and environmental stewardship. In 2025, our revival of the 600 MW Butibori power plant underscored our dedication to addressing stressed assets and reinforcing India’s energy infrastructure,” he noted.
Through a long-term supply agreement spanning 25 years, “we now guarantee 6,600 MW of reliable electricity for Maharashtra, combining unmatched solar energy generation from Khavda with solid thermal baseload support. This serves as the backbone for Maharashtra’s industries, urban areas, and digital economy,” stated Jeet Adani.
Additionally, a transformative initiative is the Rs 70,000 crore Integrated Coal Gasification and Downstream Derivatives Complex at Linga, Kalmeshwar. “This project is set to generate 30,000 direct jobs, develop advanced chemical manufacturing capabilities, enhance energy self-sufficiency for vital industries, and position Nagpur on the global stage for clean energy technologies. It represents not just an industrial endeavor, but a new avenue for national self-reliance,” Jeet Adani expressed.
The Adani Group is also enhancing Vidarbha's status as a logistics hub through a 75-acre ICD at Borkhedi and the acquisition of 24 border check posts across Maharashtra. These developments are expected to lower freight expenses, increase exports, and improve global competitiveness for numerous businesses.
“In the fields of aviation and defense, our acquisition of Indamer Technics Pvt. Ltd. has expanded our 30-acre MRO complex at MIHAN. With 15 aircraft bays, FAA and DGCA certifications, and integration with the Air Works global network, Nagpur is swiftly evolving into an international hub for aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul,” he added.
Across Gondia and Nagpur, the Adani Foundation is contributing to primary healthcare, education, and women’s empowerment via 43 SHGs, the Fortune SuPoshan nutrition initiative, and projects focusing on solar lighting, clean water, sports, and school development. This growth is rooted in dignity, inclusion, and compassion.
“I envision Vidarbha not merely as a region of Maharashtra, but as a crucial player in shaping India’s growth narrative for decades ahead,” concluded Jeet Adani.
