Pranav Adani Announces Adani Group’s ₹27,900 Crore Investment Initiative for Bihar, Expected to Generate 53,500 Jobs

Patna, Dec 20 (NationPress) Pranav Adani, Managing Director of Agro, Oil and Gas and Director of Adani Enterprises, unveiled a substantial ₹27,900 crore investment initiative for Bihar, anticipated to create as many as 53,500 jobs in the region.

Speaking at the ‘Bihar Business Connect’ summit, Pranav Adani emphasized that “there can be no better validation” of the Adani Group’s confidence in the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar “than the humble fact that we are the largest private investor in Bihar.”

Providing an overview of the Adani Group’s present and future investment strategy for Bihar, Pranav Adani stated, “In three sectors, logistics, gas distribution and agri-logistics, we have already invested around ₹850 crore and have also created around 25,000 direct and indirect job opportunities.”

He further mentioned that the Adani Group is set to invest an additional ₹2,300 crore in these sectors, which will significantly enhance the Group’s warehousing and handling capabilities while expanding its footprint in the EV, CGD (city gas distribution) and CBG (compressed biogas) sectors, ultimately generating an extra 27,000 direct and indirect local job opportunities.

Additionally, Pranav Adani noted that the Adani Group is collaborating closely with the state government to potentially invest another ₹1,000 crore in developing critical infrastructure in the state, such as Gati Shakti Railway Terminals, ICDs (Inland Container Depots), and Industrial Warehousing Parks.

The Adani Group also plans to allocate ₹2,100 crore for the manufacture and installation of over 28 lakh smart meters to automate power consumption monitoring in five cities – Siwan, Gopalganj, Vaishali, Saran, and Samastipur – which is expected to create at least 4,000 local jobs in this technological field, as noted by Pranav Adani.

He also highlighted that the Group has commenced work on its greenfield cement plant at Warisaliganj and now intends to invest an additional ₹2,500 crore in Bihar to establish a cement manufacturing capacity of 10 MMTPA in various phases, which could potentially create at least 9,000 direct and indirect jobs for the residents of the state.

“We are also investigating investment opportunities in Bihar’s energy sector. Our goal is to invest around ₹20,000 crore to establish an ultra-supercritical thermal power plant,” Pranav Adani mentioned, adding that this substantial project is expected to generate at least 12,000 job vacancies during the pre-commissioning phase and approximately 1,500 skilled jobs during the operational phase.

Pranav Adani praised the Chief Minister’s “relentless focus” on enhancing the business environment in Bihar, which is “laying the groundwork for an investment boom in the coming years.”

“On behalf of the Adani Group, I would like to express our gratitude for your unwavering support, guidance, and encouragement – and also for the chance to contribute more to Bihar – with Bihar – for Bihar,” Pranav Adani concluded.
