Srinagar, April 2 (NationPress) The Lt Governor of J&K, Manoj Sinha, called upon students on Wednesday to utilize the skills they have developed at universities to contribute to nation building and enhancing the quality of life for citizens.
During the Alumni Meet at Sharda University in Srinagar, he extended greetings to the alumni, management, faculty, and students.
In his remarks, he urged the youth to apply the skills gained at university towards national development and uplifting the community.
“Education offers a unique opportunity and is a source of immense power. It is the only true resource, akin to a small lamp capable of illuminating the darkest paths. Young individuals should delve into the spiritual and cultural aspects of education and value its principles,” he stated.
He pointed out the essential role of alumni in fostering connections and mentorship, enhancing the institution’s reputation, and facilitating knowledge exchange.
“Alumni act as role models, motivating younger students to pursue their aspirations. The forthcoming two decades are predicted to be the prime era for knowledge economies globally. As the keepers of knowledge, you will be pivotal in transferring the expertise acquired in universities to the economic sector to stimulate growth and develop a prosperous India,” he added.
He also discussed the ongoing transformation in the educational sector of J&K, guided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He urged educational institutions and the teaching community to adopt the National Education Policy 2020 fully, creating an environment that fosters innovation, skill development, experiential learning, and empowers youth to become catalysts for positive change.
