Jammu, Dec 22 (NationPress) The Director General of Police (DGP) for Jammu and Kashmir, Nalin Prabhat, emphasized on Monday that terrorism and various other criminal acts will consistently be monitored closely by the police force in the Union Territory.
While inaugurating the 14th edition of the police martyrs memorial T20 cricket tournament for 2025-2026 in Kathua, the DGP stated that whether it pertains to drug trafficking, gangsters, mafia, or any other type of crime, particularly terrorism, it will all remain under the watchful eye of law enforcement.
He remarked that the unwavering goal of the police is to eradicate all forms of anti-national and anti-social behavior in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police, along with security forces, have been executing vigorous operations against terrorists, their over ground workers (OGWs), sympathizers, drug smugglers, and those involved in hawala money schemes.
These coordinated efforts aim to dismantle the entire support structure of terrorism by eliminating its ecosystem.
Law enforcement is also keeping a close watch on drug traffickers and individuals engaged in hawala transactions.
It is believed that the funds generated from these illegal activities are utilized to sustain terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.
The military and the Border Security Force (BSF) are responsible for monitoring infiltration, exfiltration, drug smuggling, and drone activities originating from across the border in Jammu and Kashmir.
A 740-Km long line of control (LoC) is overseen by the army, while the BSF manages the 240-Km long international border.
The LoC extends through the districts of Baramulla, Bandipora, and Kupwara in the Valley, as well as Poonch, Rajouri, and partially in Jammu.
The international border is located in the districts of Jammu, Kathua, and Samba.
