New Delhi, June 19 (NationPress) In the aftermath of the unusual meeting between US President Donald Trump and Pakistan’s Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir at the White House, Manoj Kumar Jha, a member of the Rajya Sabha from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), expressed serious concerns regarding Trump’s mental health, describing him as “mentally unstable.”
In an interview with IANS, Jha remarked, “I prefer not to delve deeply, but his actions suggest that the US President is mentally unstable and struggles to think clearly on ideological issues. My worries run deeper. Recently, our Ministry of External Affairs held a briefing on a video, and once again, Trump made another statement regarding his role in mediating between India and Pakistan. It appears he is truly obsessed with this matter.”
Jha advocated for a special session of Parliament in light of Trump’s remarks.
“All Members of Parliament should unite to convey a clear message to Trump: this is not your concern. We have never accepted mediation—neither in the past, nor in the present, nor will we in the future,” he stated.
Commenting on Pakistan’s recent accolades for leaders such as Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Trump, Jha questioned the situation’s irony.
“They are suggesting a Nobel Prize for Shehbaz and Trump. Leaders like (North Korea's) Kim Jong Un and (Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu) are being hailed as peacemakers. Just look at the type of peace they are fostering—in Iran, in Gaza. The geopolitical landscape is becoming increasingly complicated, which is why I believe it’s time we re-evaluate our foreign policy,” he asserted.
Jha also discussed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to Bihar's Siwan, where he is set to inaugurate and lay the foundation for projects worth Rs 9,519 crore on June 20. Modi is also expected to address a public rally.
“As Prime Minister, it’s natural for him to visit, especially with elections on the horizon. He’ll likely showcase traditional symbols like the gamcha and litti chokha. However, what is more pressing are the real issues facing Bihar—unemployment, inadequate social security, and declining health facilities,” he said.
“PM Modi has not addressed the gunfire incident during his roadshow on Boring Road. These are the crucial matters he must confront in Siwan.”
This marks PM Modi’s fourth visit to Bihar this year, with the state Assembly elections approaching in October-November. The administration is on high alert ahead of his arrival.
