New Delhi, Nov 15 (NationPress) As Jharkhand marks its 25th anniversary of establishment, President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed their warm wishes to the citizens of this vibrant state, highlighting its reputation for talent, dedication, and rich cultural heritage, while also honoring the tribal legend Birsa Munda.

Jharkhand was formed on November 15, 2000, from Bihar, coinciding with the birth anniversary of Birsa Munda.

In a message shared on X, President Murmu expressed, "Congratulations to everyone on the Silver Jubilee of Jharkhand State! The industrious residents of this land of Lord Birsa Munda have significantly contributed to the pride of both their state and the nation."

She further noted that Jharkhand, rich in natural resources, has consistently played a vital role in the nation’s development.

Emphasizing the region's cultural diversity, she remarked that the folk traditions of its tribal communities are acknowledged both nationally and globally, with the courageous people of the state demonstrating unwavering commitment to the nation.

President Murmu expressed her aspirations for ongoing progress in Jharkhand, wishing for the state to advance steadily and for a bright future for all its inhabitants.

Prime Minister Modi also extended his greetings to the people of Jharkhand on this significant occasion, stating on X, "Warm regards to the people of the remarkable state of Jharkhand, celebrated for its tribal heritage, on its foundation day."

He added, "The history of this land of Lord Birsa Munda is filled with stories of valor, struggle, and dignity. On this special day, I wish for the growth and prosperity of the state alongside all my family members in Jharkhand."

Earlier, the Prime Minister paid tribute to Birsa Munda in honor of the 150th anniversary of the revered leader’s birth, which is recognized nationwide as Tribal Pride Day.

Birsa Munda, who was born on November 15, 1875, in Ulihatu village—now part of Jharkhand—became a pivotal figure against British colonial rule during the late 19th century.

Affectionately known as 'Dharti Aaba' or the 'Father of the Earth' among tribal people, Birsa Munda sacrificed his life for the cause of indigenous empowerment and resistance to colonial oppression.

Jharkhand's Governor Santosh Gangwar also conveyed heartfelt greetings to the people on this occasion.

He shared on X, "Jharkhand is celebrating 25 glorious years since its establishment, symbolizing our inspiring advancements in various sectors. I wish for happiness and prosperity for all and the continuous growth of the state."
