Bengaluru, Jan 20 (NationPress) As calls for the removal of state chief B.Y. Vijayendra grow louder, the core committee of the Karnataka BJP is set to convene on Tuesday in Bengaluru. The agenda will focus on the elections for the position of the state president.
In a media briefing on Monday, Vijayendra stated, "The BJP State In-charge and National General Secretary Radha Mohan Das Agarwal, Tamil Nadu leader Pon Radhakrishnan, and State Co-in-charge Sudhakar Reddy are scheduled to arrive in Bengaluru on Jan 21. A gathering of our elected officials, including MLAs, MPs, and Legislative Council members, will take place at 3 p.m. at the State Office, Jagannath Bhavan in Bengaluru. This meeting aims to gather opinions and discuss organizational matters. At 4 p.m., the focus will shift to ongoing organizational processes within the state. The elections for the Mandal Presidents have concluded, and the appointment process for District Presidents is currently ongoing. The meeting will also cover the election for the state president."
He further noted that there would be a meeting involving party election officers, co-officers, and 13 supervisors. These three sessions will include participation from MPs, MLAs, and Legislative Council members. "Tomorrow, we will engage in extensive discussions regarding the state’s situation, organizational issues, and the election of the state president," he reiterated.
When questioned about senior BJP leaders publicly challenging him, he responded, "I am not concerned about those who target me. Regardless of who it is, I won’t be bothered. I am here to work, and I will continue to do so. I won’t waste my time discussing those who are unproductive. Those who need to take action will do so."
He further mentioned, "In February, the national presidential election process will commence. Party workers are anxious about the recent developments, and their concerns will be understood. The High Command will soon address all issues, including these matters."
On the topic of laborers being mistreated in Vijayapura, he stated, "Since the Congress government led by Siddaramaiah took office, such incidents have been on the rise. We are monitoring the brutal assaults on laborers in Vijayapura. It is evident that the state government is ignoring these incidents. Those responsible for such actions must be apprehended immediately."
Regarding Minister M.B. Patil's comment that BJP and JD(S) legislators will join Congress, he replied, "Following the developments surrounding the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) scam, where CM Siddaramaiah is implicated, we observe the internal conflicts taking place within Congress regarding the CM's position. During this tumult, what can they expect by recruiting BJP and JD(S) legislators into their party?"
"I have one question for them: First, focus on development. Address the law-and-order situation. Take care of your own legislators before attempting to recruit BJP and JD(S) MLAs," he added.
In response to the incidents of violence against cows revered by Hindus, he remarked, "In Honnavar, a cow was brutally slaughtered. The public's trust in the government has eroded. In Chamarajpet, three cows were mutilated. Such occurrences are a shame for everyone. Despite these incidents, the state government attempts to convey that law and order is maintained. Anti-Hindu elements are causing chaos in the state. There is a clear lack of fear among these individuals regarding the law or the police. Both the Home Minister and CM must remain vigilant."
He went on to stress, "Law and order have completely collapsed in the state."
In Salakoda village of Honnavar taluk, Karwar district, miscreants slaughtered a pregnant cow, extracting the calf and discarding it while taking the meat. The Karnataka BJP claimed that attacks on cows by radical factions are being orchestrated to incite and hurt Hindu sentiments in the region.
