Diplomats from multiple countries recognized Karnataka’s evolution from a technology center to a significant global innovation ally. They highlighted the state's solid policy framework, support for startups aiming for global expansion, collaborative research opportunities, and market access, which render Bengaluru a prime spot for investors and entrepreneurs.
The state government’s proactive approach through the "Bridge to Bengaluru" initiative has been commended for propelling Karnataka to new international acclaim.
This event has been characterized as one of India’s most crucial diplomatic initiatives led by a state government, concentrating on technology, innovation, and global collaborations.
Among the attendees were Large and Medium Industries Minister M.B. Patil, senior officials from electronics and other departments, alongside global industry leaders.
More than 45 ambassadors and high commissioners, along with senior diplomatic representatives from over 80 nations, were present and contributed their insights.
Over 140 attendees, including representatives from international organizations, industry, and government, participated in this significant dialogue.
Notably, the presence of leading international trade and investment organizations marked a crucial advancement towards fortifying government-to-government and business-to-government partnerships.
Diplomatic representatives from key partner nations such as Switzerland, Saudi Arabia, Denmark, France, Egypt, Malaysia, Japan, Germany, and Bhutan engaged in the dialogue. Several ambassadors underscored the deepening and expanding partnerships between Karnataka and their respective countries.
They also acknowledged the state government’s initiatives to strengthen connections with India’s innovation ecosystem through structured platforms like the Global Innovation Alliance (GIA).
In addressing the assembly, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, who also serves as Bengaluru Development Minister, asserted that Bengaluru outpaces other cities in the nation across various sectors.
He noted that those who invest in the city have consistently profited and do not wish to leave, which demonstrates Bengaluru’s appeal.
He recalled a visit from former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee about 20 years ago, who stated that global leaders first visit Bengaluru before exploring other Indian cities.
He also mentioned that PM Modi has recognized Bengaluru as a global city.
In a media interaction post-event, Shivakumar remarked on the participation of leaders from around the globe in this program.
He reflected on the Tech Summit held last November that attracted 60,000 entrepreneurs from 100 countries, emphasizing the trust placed in Bengaluru.
