Patna, March 18 (NationPress) JD(U) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar emphasized on Wednesday that the resignation of K.C. Tyagi was not rooted in any policy disagreements with the party.
In statements made to IANS, Neeraj Kumar asserted, “K.C. Tyagi's departure is not a result of any discord regarding the party's policies. He holds tremendous respect for Nitish Kumar and now aims to engage more actively in the political landscape of Uttar Pradesh.”
He further remarked that Tyagi may have engaged in discussions with various political entities in Uttar Pradesh which might have shaped his decision. “This seems to be a personal decision, and hence, it shouldn't be subjected to public speculation,” Kumar noted to IANS.
In another development, K.C. Tyagi recently hinted that he would soon announce his forthcoming political endeavors after opting not to renew his JD(U) membership.
In his official statement, Tyagi disclosed that a gathering of like-minded individuals is scheduled for March 22 at Mavlankar Hall to deliberate on the prevailing political climate in the nation.
“My next steps will be determined shortly in consultation with my colleagues, political allies, supporters, and activists,” the JD(U) leader mentioned.
“With the conclusion of the party's membership campaign, I've decided against renewing my membership this time,” Tyagi added.
He reminisced about the founding of the JD(U) on October 30, 2003, following the merger of the Samata Party and the Janata Dal.
Tyagi reflected on George Fernandes being the party's President during its inception, while he himself served as Secretary General.
He also highlighted his collaborative efforts with former JD(U) Presidents Sharad Yadav and Nitish Kumar in various capacities, including chief general secretary, chief spokesperson, and political advisor to the Bihar Chief Minister.
Despite distancing himself from the JD(U), Tyagi reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to issues affecting the underprivileged, farmers, and marginalized communities.
He also expressed that his respect for Bihar Chief Minister and JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar remains unshaken, describing him as a long-time associate spanning nearly fifty years.
Tyagi conveyed that he would continue to adhere to the principles and ideologies of leaders like Chaudhary Charan Singh, Ram Manohar Lohia, and Karpoori Thakur.
This announcement follows Nitish Kumar's recent victory in the Rajya Sabha elections from Bihar, alongside other NDA candidates such as Nitin Nabin, Ram Nath Thakur, Upendra Kushwaha, and Shivesh Ram.
K.C. Tyagi has long been recognized as a strategic thinker within the JD(U), playing a pivotal role in representing the party's perspectives on both national media platforms and the Central government during various administrations.
