Key Takeaways
Patna, March 17 (NationPress) Longtime political figure K.C. Tyagi has signaled that he will make a decision regarding his political trajectory soon after opting not to renew his Janata Dal-United (JD-U) membership.
In a public announcement, Tyagi revealed that a gathering of like-minded individuals is scheduled for March 22 at Mavlankar Hall to deliberate on the present political landscape of the nation.
"My next steps will be determined shortly in collaboration with my colleagues, political allies, supporters, and activists," stated the JD-U veteran.
Tyagi elaborated, "With the conclusion of the party's membership drive, I have opted out of renewing my membership this time around."
He reminisced about the formation of the JD-U on October 30, 2003, following the merger between the Samata Party and the Janata Dal.
At that time, George Fernandes was the party's President, and Tyagi held the role of Secretary General.
He shared that he collaborated closely with former JD-U Presidents Sharad Yadav and Nitish Kumar in various capacities, including chief general secretary, chief spokesperson, and political adviser to the Chief Minister of Bihar.
Even after distancing himself from the JD-U, Tyagi reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to issues impacting the underprivileged, farmers, and marginalized communities.
He expressed that his personal respect for Bihar's Chief Minister and JD-U leader Nitish Kumar remains strong, referring to him as a long-term associate of nearly five decades.
Tyagi emphasized that he will continue to be inspired by the principles and ideologies of leaders like Chaudhary Charan Singh, Ram Manohar Lohia, and Karpoori Thakur.
This statement follows Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's recent success in the Rajya Sabha elections from Bihar, alongside other candidates from the NDA, including Nitin Nabin, Ram Nath Thakur, Upendra Kushwaha, and Shivesh Ram.
K.C. Tyagi has been a significant thinker within the JD-U for many years.
He has played a vital role at the central level, representing the JD-U on national platforms, engaging with both the media and the central governments led by Congress and BJP during their respective terms.
