Patna, Jan 11 (NationPress) Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan has launched a pointed critique against RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav for his decision to leave Bihar during a crucial Assembly session following the party's significant defeat in the recent elections. Paswan described this move as demoralizing for the dedicated workers and enthusiasts of the party.
During a press conference held in Patna, Paswan remarked that Tejashwi's choice to vacate the state amidst an active Assembly session showcased a lack of sound political judgment.
"While I have no issues with Tejashwi Yadav taking a family vacation, it is important to remember that he holds a constitutional position. Departing from Bihar during a session is unwise and has disheartened RJD workers and supporters," Paswan stated.
He further expressed his disappointment that instead of reflecting on the reasons for their electoral defeat and addressing the public, Tejashwi opted for absence.
"Instead of clarifying the reasons behind the loss in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections and sharing his perspective with the public, he chose to leave Bihar during the Assembly session," Paswan emphasized.
Comparing his own political actions, Paswan highlighted, "After our party's defeat in the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, I faced the media the very next day, acknowledged our loss, and explained the circumstances. The RJD faced a major setback in 2025, yet Tejashwi Yadav has not exhibited similar accountability."
Paswan asserted that the RJD has experienced political fragility since losing power in 2005.
"In 2010, the NDA secured a decisive victory. In 2015, Nitish Kumar extended a lifeline to the RJD to aid in its consolidation. In 2020, I revived political momentum for the RJD. Had the NDA participated in the 2020 elections as a united front, the outcome would likely have mirrored that of 2025," he claimed.
Responding to rumors about attempts to fracture the Grand Alliance, Paswan stated that such actions are unnecessary given the NDA's robust standing.
"I oppose the disbanding of parties or MLAs. However, numerous MLAs from the RJD and Congress have shown interest in joining us. Particularly, RJD MLAs are expressing anger towards Tejashwi Yadav's leadership during the elections," he remarked.
On the topic of infiltrators, Paswan took a strong stance, asserting, "Anyone who is not a native of our country must be expelled. Foreign nationals should not be granted voting rights."
