Key Takeaways
Patna, Jan 13 (NationPress) The President of Lok Janshakti Party-Ram Vilas and Union Minister, Chirag Paswan, unleashed a fierce critique of the Bihar Grand Alliance during a Makar Sankranti gathering in Delhi on Tuesday.
At a traditional Dahi-Chura feast, Chirag Paswan elaborated on Bihar's political landscape, the current state of the Opposition alliance, and recent events in West Bengal.
He raised concerns about the rising dissatisfaction within the Grand Alliance, specifically targeting Tejashwi Yadav, the Leader of the Opposition in Bihar, who had previously stated he would maintain silence for the initial 100 days of the new state government.
"What sort of democracy permits the Opposition to choose silence?" Chirag Paswan questioned.
"Were you appointed as Leader of the Opposition merely to stay mute? If Tejashwi Yadav wishes to remain quiet, he should delegate his responsibilities to someone else," he added.
Referring to the lack of attendance by MLAs at the Dahi-Chura feast organized by State Congress President Rajesh Ram, Chirag Paswan emphasized that this clearly indicates internal turmoil within the Opposition in Bihar.
"When MLAs don’t show up for their own party’s event, it signifies that all is not well," he remarked.
The LJP-RV Chief noted that frustration among RJD and Congress MLAs regarding alliance issues is becoming increasingly apparent.
Taking a broader political stance, Chirag Paswan also denounced any attempts to divide the country based on language.
"Languages should be friends, not foes," he stated, criticizing leaders who prefer foreign languages yet fail to respect Indian languages.
He affirmed that the NDA government is progressing with the inclusive philosophy of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas'.
In West Bengal, Chirag Paswan expressed strong dissatisfaction with assaults on central investigative agencies and the confrontational approach of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee towards them.
"It is unbecoming of a Chief Minister to confront central agencies directly," he commented.
"If there’s nothing to hide, why the anxiety and panic?" he questioned.
Chirag Paswan asserted that public sentiment in West Bengal is shifting and predicted a significant political triumph for the NDA in the state.
His statements during Makar Sankranti have intensified political discussions, especially in light of the visible fractures within the Opposition-led alliance and escalating confrontations in national politics.
