Patna, Jan 2 (NationPress) After a period of relative silence on social media following the Bihar Assembly elections, Tejashwi Yadav, the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, made a notable return on Friday, delivering a scathing critique of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Having previously exited the Bihar Assembly's Winter session and traveled outside the state, Tejashwi re-emerged online, responding strongly to a contentious remark made by a BJP leader from Uttarakhand.
In a post on X, Tejashwi shared a 39-second video clip featuring the Uttarakhand BJP leader, asserting that the BJP harbors a poisonous mindset toward women and Bihar.
He stated, "BJP leaders are claiming that after purchasing women's votes for Rs 10,000, they will now procure girls from Bihar for Rs 20,000 to Rs 25,000. This demonstrates the toxic mentality the BJP has always exhibited towards Bihar and women."
The video ignited a political uproar in Bihar, leading to a fierce exchange of accusations between the ruling BJP and the opposition RJD.
RJD Spokesperson Shakti Singh Yadav denounced the alleged comments from the Uttarakhand BJP leader, labeling them as profoundly disrespectful to the women of Bihar.
"The BJP's depiction of women as mere objects is a grave issue for all Biharis. We demand the strongest possible action against the implicated leader," he asserted.
When approached for a reaction, Bihar BJP President Sanjay Saraogi opted not to respond and left with a smile, sidestepping the remarks made by Tejashwi Yadav.
In contrast, BJP Spokesperson Prabhakar Mishra condemned the Uttarakhand leader's statement.
"The comments made by the husband of a Minister in the Uttarakhand government are disgraceful and indicative of a lack of integrity. Women should never be treated as commodities. This statement is an affront not only to the women of Bihar but to women everywhere. We will ensure action is taken against those accountable," Mishra declared.
This episode has further heightened the political clash between the BJP and RJD, with the issues of women's dignity and political responsibility taking center stage in the ongoing discourse.
