Patna, Dec 4 (NationPress) On Thursday, the JD(U) raised concerns regarding the absence of Tejashwi Yadav, the Leader of Opposition, from the joint assembly session of both Houses in Bihar, which was addressed by Governor Arif Mohammed Khan.
JD(U) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar stated to IANS, “I just want to know where the Leader of the Opposition is -- where Tejashwi Yadav is -- whether he is in the sky, underground, east, west, north, south, in the Assembly, in the Council, in any constituency, anywhere. What is his current location? He is absent from the Assembly to dodge questions.”
In response, Congress MLA Qamrul Hoda commented, “The Leader of the Opposition is not present; he might have had some important commitments. There could be various reasons such as health issues, legal matters, or other obligations. His absence is not particularly noteworthy and may simply be due to a case that required his attention elsewhere.”
Shrawon Kumar, an MLA from Nalanda and JD(U) leader, remarked, “He will return; he is expected today. He might have gone somewhere else. It seems like he has lost interest. The public has turned against him. His arrogance has led to a lesson from the people. He should learn from this experience and move forward.”
Meanwhile, during the third day of the winter session of the Bihar Assembly, Governor Arif Mohammed Khan delivered a special address on Wednesday. Following his speech, Nitish Kumar was elected as the Leader of the House, while Tejashwi Yadav was officially recognized as the Leader of Opposition (LoP). Furthermore, JD(U)'s Narendra Narayan Yadav submitted his nomination for the Deputy Speaker position.
The inaugural session of the 18th Bihar Legislative Assembly commenced on December 1 under tight security. All 243 newly elected MLAs took an oath of office before pro-tem Speaker Narendra Narain Yadav on the first day of the session.
