Patna, Dec 5 (NationPress) The absence of Tejashwi Yadav, the Leader of the Opposition, from the current Winter Session of the Bihar Assembly has provided the ruling NDA coalition with an opportunity to criticize the Opposition. On Friday, Neeraj Kumar, a JD(U) MLC, directed his focus towards Tejashwi Yadav, referencing media claims that he is abroad in Europe.
“After his defeat in the Assembly elections, Tejashwi Yadav chose to take a vacation with his family. With his father unwell, it has come to light through the media that he is now traveling in Europe. I urge him to disclose the details of his journey. As the Leader of the Opposition, he should be transparent and share photographs. Who is with him? Reports indicate that the history-sheeter Rameez is traveling alongside him. This raises significant concerns. Did he seek permission from the court? If so, he should make that permission known to the media and on social media,” stated Neeraj Kumar.
Additionally, Chetan Anand, a JD(U) MLA, also raised questions regarding Tejashwi Yadav’s absence during the Assembly session.
“As the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, Tejashwi Yadav holds a crucial role. His presence during the session is vital. It's inappropriate if the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Ministers, or the Leader of the Opposition are not present during these sessions. They are essential pillars of governance and democracy. It's regrettable that a key component of the legislative process is absent,” he remarked.
Akhtarul Iman, an MLA from AIMIM, echoed concerns about Tejashwi’s absence.
“The absence of the Leader of the Opposition during the ongoing Assembly session is detrimental to democracy. Holding an important constitutional role, he must honor it. While personal issues are understandable, the Opposition's numbers are already limited in the Bihar Assembly, and his absence conveys a negative impression,” he added.
