Did Tejashwi Skip the Bihar Assembly Session Out of Embarrassment Over Poll Loss?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Patna, Dec 6 (NationPress) Union MSME Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi on Saturday lambasted Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Yadav for his absence during most of the recently concluded Bihar Assembly session. He claimed that Tejashwi was avoiding the Assembly due to feelings of embarrassment over the Grand Alliance's disappointing results in the Assembly elections.
Manjhi stated, "The Leader of the Opposition, Tejashwi Yadav, is an irresponsible individual. While he engages in politics, he often makes irresponsible statements. I have heard that he might be travelling abroad. If that’s the case, he should have recognized the significance of this short session and prioritized attendance instead of neglecting it."
He added, "I strongly believe that after his devastating defeat in the 2025 elections, he is feeling ashamed. He had proclaimed his intent to form a government and suggested he would take the oath on November 18. He even had a cabinet ready and planned bureaucratic changes, but all his efforts were futile. He now avoids the public eye and thus skipped the Assembly session."
Manjhi also urged Tejashwi to attend future Assembly sessions, emphasizing his responsibility as a member of the Bihar Assembly.
The Bihar Assembly session occurred from December 1 to December 5.
Initially, Tejashwi Yadav attended the first two days, took the oath as an MLA, and subsequently departed for Delhi after the second day. Various leaders, referencing media reports, have claimed that Tejashwi is currently in Europe with his family, although this remains unverified.
On Friday, JDU MLC Neeraj Kumar criticized Tejashwi Yadav, citing media claims about his European trip. "After his loss in the Assembly election, Tejashwi Yadav went on a vacation with his family. His father is unwell, and now reports suggest he is touring Europe. I urge him to disclose the details of his trip. As the Leader of the Opposition, he should share photographs and clarify who is accompanying him. Reports indicate that a known criminal, Rameez, is also part of this trip. This raises serious questions. Did he secure permission from the court? If so, he should publicly share that permission," Neeraj Kumar remarked.
