New Delhi, May 27 (NationPress) BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal strongly criticized AAP's national convener, Arvind Kejriwal, on Tuesday. He accused Kejriwal of employing his unsuccessful strategies from Delhi in Punjab, conveniently forgetting that the people of the national capital have already held him accountable.
Khandelwal's remarks came in response to a BJP poster highlighting the AAP government's failure to fulfill its commitment to create a drug-free Punjab.
The BJP's post on X points out that the AAP government has missed multiple deadlines, including one set for May 31, to achieve a drug-free Punjab, with previous targets having been missed as well, including one for December 2024.
Khandelwal accused Kejriwal of recycling his “failed theatrics” from Delhi in a state already facing serious challenges like drug addiction and alcohol abuse. He stated, “For a long time, Punjab has been beleaguered by problems such as drugs and alcohol. The average citizen is distressed, Punjab's economy is faltering, and the state is not advancing as it should. Following his defeat in Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal is now attempting the same kind of drama in Punjab that he did in Delhi, but he forgets that the people of Delhi have punished him for those theatrics.”
In a separate matter, regarding the controversy sparked by BJP MP Nishikant Dubey’s tweet about the 1971 war and the Rann of Kutch boundary settlement, Khandelwal supported his party colleague, stating that India does not require foreign intervention.
“What Nishikant Dubey has stated was made responsibly and based on facts. However, India’s position has always been transparent: we communicate directly, and we have never agreed to mediation. And mediation for what? The transgressions committed by Pakistan are being effectively managed by India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership,” Khandelwal remarked.
“The narrative of mediation has been propagated by those who wish to see India falter under PM Modi’s leadership,” he added.
Earlier, Nishikant Dubey had accused former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi of compromising national interests during the Rann of Kutch boundary agreement following the 1965 conflict, claiming the Congress government “auctioned off Indian land” under pressure from the US.
