During a media briefing, the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Odisha, R.S. Gopalan, announced that the 'silence period' for the Nuapada bypoll commenced at 4 p.m. today.
In accordance with the established guidelines, political parties must observe a 'silence period' 48 hours before the conclusion of voting.

The CEO informed reporters that polling teams are set to arrive at their designated booths by Monday evening.
"The law and order situation in Nuapada is currently stable. There are 47 sensitive polling booths in the area. A sufficient number of state police and Central Armed Police Force personnel have been assigned to ensure a smooth polling process without any disturbances," Gopalan stated.
To facilitate a seamless election, a total of 14 companies of Central Armed Police Forces, five platoons of Odisha State Armed Police, reserve police units, 35 mobile patrol squads, 18 flying squads, and 18 Static Surveillance Teams, along with district police officials, will be deployed in Nuapada for the bypoll.
There are 14 candidates contesting in the Nuapada bypoll, scheduled for November 11.
The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has nominated Jay Dholakia, son of the late Rajendra Dholakia, a senior Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader and four-time MLA, whose unexpected passing in September prompted this bye-election.
In contrast, the main opposition, BJD, has put forward senior leader and former minister Snehangini Chhuria as its candidate for the bye-election.
Additionally, the Congress Party has selected top tribal leader Ghasiram Majhi to represent them in the Nuapada bypoll.
This bye-election marks the first since the BJP took power in the state.
The BJP is making every effort to sway voters in their favor.
