Kerala Tourism Launches Revamped Website in Over 20 Languages

Thiruvananthapuram, December 4 (NationPress) - Kerala Tourism Minister P.A. Mohammed Riyas introduced the redesigned Kerala Tourism website, which now supports over 20 languages.

The site was last updated in 2017.

During the launch of the newly updated site, www.keralatourism.org, Riyas emphasized that the user-friendly and interactive portal will highlight the vast opportunities Kerala offers as a tourism destination, readily accessible to travelers from all corners of the globe.

"In the tourism industry, Kerala is in competition with nations like Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam, and Australia. Hence, we must revamp our strategies using advanced technology to present Kerala as a top-tier destination, offering essential information at the fingertips of tourists worldwide," he remarked.

The Minister noted that the website has attracted approximately one crore visitors and over two crore page views in the year 2023-24 alone.

This enhanced website serves as a comprehensive digital resource, showcasing the state’s unique attractions, culture, heritage, and travel details, all available in more than 20 languages.

Utilizing modern web technologies such as ReactJS and Python Flask, the upgraded site promises a smooth browsing experience across various devices, including computers, tablets, and smartphones. A custom-designed Content Management System (CMS) will efficiently manage content and provide personalized user experiences. The revamped site also ensures easy access to tourism-related topics and features improved multimedia playback.

Additional highlights of the website include stunning high-resolution images, engaging videos, and attractive new layouts for travel packages. Interactive features such as a travel planner, live webcasts, video quizzes, and e-newsletters have been integrated. The site also allows users to contribute content, enabling travelers to share their own stories, photos, and videos from their Kerala experiences. Furthermore, it includes short video clips that offer glimpses of Kerala, a video gallery featuring 360-degree videos and royalty-free content, as well as a picture gallery available for tourism stakeholders.

This user-centric website provides information in just three clicks and boasts over one lakh pages filled with high-resolution images and captivating videos. Launched in 1998, www.keralatourism.org has significantly contributed to promoting the tourism initiatives of the Department of Tourism and has received numerous accolades, including recognition as one of the top 10 tourism websites in the Asia Pacific and Middle East.
