How Did An Elderly Tribal Woman Die After Gang-Rape In MP's Khandwa District?

Bhopal, May 25 (NationPress) A profoundly shocking episode has emerged from Khandwa district, echoing the notorious Nirbhaya case in Delhi. An elderly tribal woman tragically became a victim of gang-rape and severe brutality, which ultimately led to her death. The assailants wielded a sharp steel object, inflicting horrific injuries upon her private parts. Two individuals have been apprehended, but law enforcement has not released additional information regarding the case.

These criminals committed vile acts, inserting sharp items into the victim’s private regions, resulting in grave internal damage.

She endured excruciating pain before succumbing to her injuries.

The victim, a 45-year-old mother of two adults, was reportedly left by her attackers after the assault, along with a theft of Rs 20,000, and was left to suffer without timely medical care.

Sources indicate that this heinous crime took place on Saturday afternoon within the jurisdiction of the Khalwa police station near Roshni village.

One source stated, “The assault was so brutal that her ovary was forcefully expelled from her body.”

In response to this tragedy, the Congress party has expressed strong disapproval of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party government and has formed a three-member investigative committee to uncover the facts of the matter.

This panel, entirely comprised of women, aims to guarantee justice. Jitu Patwari, president of the state Congress unit, voiced his outrage on social media, stating: “The brutal rape and murder of a tribal woman in Khandwa district has shaken the entire state. We vehemently condemn this atrocious act and are determined to seek justice for the victim’s family.” The investigative team will visit the site, engage with the victim’s family, converse with local officials, and present a comprehensive report to party leadership. The Congress is dedicated to protecting the dignity and safety of the tribal community and will ensure that the perpetrators face the most severe consequences.

According to local accounts, a wedding celebration occurred in the village on Friday.

Several women from the family had temporarily stayed at a nearby farm, and after the festivities, they requested the victim to guide them back.

The farm was only half a kilometer away.

However, she did not return home that evening. Assuming she had stayed at the farm, her family delayed the search.

The following morning, when she remained unaccounted for, they went to the farm, only to be informed that she had come back the previous evening with two villagers, Sunil and Hari.

Later, a woman named Bhuribai from the village informed them that the victim was lying in severe pain, barely conscious, in a shed behind her house.

Upon their arrival, she was barely coherent. They attempted to revive her, offered her water, and eventually brought her home.

When they inquired about her condition, she weakly whispered: “Something terrible has happened to me. I will not survive.”

She disclosed that Sunil and Hari had assaulted her. She was critically injured, suffering from heavy bleeding and exposing internal organs.

The two assailants were known to her. Officials suspect that sharp or hard objects were utilized during the attack, leading to extensive damage.

She was rushed to the hospital but unfortunately succumbed to her wounds during treatment. Preliminary medical examinations confirmed significant internal trauma.

The police have yet to verify if they have received the post-mortem report.
