Bhopal, May 27 (NationPress) Rajiv Kumar Tandon, a member of the Madhya Pradesh Human Rights Commission, has expressed alarm over a horrific incident in Khandwa involving the brutal gang rape of an elderly woman.

The assault inflicted serious bodily injury, leading to her unfortunate demise.

Recognizing this as a clear violation of human rights, which has been widely reported in the media recently, Tandon has requested detailed explanations from the appropriate authorities concerning the incident.

This appalling crime took place in a village near Khalwa, a tribal area in Khandwa district, where a 45-year-old woman was reportedly targeted by two individuals, known as Sunil and Hari.

Forensic expert Dr. Seema Sutay, head of the Department of Forensic Science and Toxicology, stated, “176 cm of the victim’s intestine was found protruding from her private area.”

As per media accounts, after assaulting the victim, the assailants subjected her to extreme violence using a foreign object, likely a rod or a wooden tool, resulting in severe physical trauma.

However, in a conversation with IANS, Additional Superintendent of Police Rajesh Raghuwanshi mentioned that “no foreign object was discovered at the crime scene.”

When questioned on Tuesday about how the post-mortem report indicated such brutality had transpired, he speculated that the perpetrators might have utilized their hands.

He avoided addressing the contradiction between the post-mortem report and police findings, stating, “The matter is under investigation.”

Dr. Omkar Patel, a known gastroenterologist from Bhopal, also informed IANS that if excessive force is applied, it is possible for the intestine to emerge from the private area due to tissue damage.

“This can occur by hand as well,” he remarked.

The victim eventually succumbed to her injuries after enduring considerable suffering.

In light of the gravity of the situation, the Madhya Pradesh Human Rights Commission has acknowledged the incident and has requested a comprehensive report from the Superintendent of Police in Khandwa regarding the actions taken.

The report is anticipated within three weeks. Despite these severe injuries, she managed to survive for nearly 18 hours following the assault. Although significant damage was inflicted, notably, there were no injuries to the uterus or rectum.

Dr. Seema Sutay indicated that the intestine does not protrude unless there is muscle relaxation, suggesting that considerable force, either through an object or hands, was applied.

She characterized the act as one of extreme brutality.

Meanwhile, the individuals implicated in the gang rape and murder, Harish and Sunil, were presented before the court on Monday.

Initially, the court placed them in police custody for two days. Following this remand, they were brought back on Tuesday, where the court extended their police custody for an additional two days.
