New Delhi, March 17 (NationPress) A political storm has emerged following Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge's remarks questioning the operations and role of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), labeling it the "most corrupt entity" in the nation. His comments have garnered support from Congress and Samajwadi Party leaders, while the BJP has vehemently condemned them. Samajwadi Party MP Awadhesh Prasad supported Kharge, stating that the RSS significantly influences BJP policies.

He emphasized, "The RSS is integral to the BJP, and currently, BJP administrations—both at the national and state levels—are entirely aligned with its agenda. This poses a challenge to our democratic principles and constitutional values."

Prasad also reminded that the RSS had faced a ban in the past and suggested that the government operates under its directives without any such restrictions today.

Rajeev Kumar Rai, another MP from the Samajwadi Party, criticized the RSS, asserting that it played no role in India's fight for independence, and thus, his party holds a negative view of the organization.

Congress MP Sukhdeo Bhagat shared similar thoughts, referencing historical events where Sardar Patel had once imposed restrictions on the RSS. He accused the organization of acting as the "parent entity" of the BJP and attempting to enforce its ideological agenda across the nation.

Congress spokesperson Surendra Rajput questioned the financial transparency of the RSS, pointing out that the organization is not officially registered, which leaves its financial activities and sources murky. He raised concerns about potential financial misconduct and called for more rigorous oversight.

Independent MP Pappu Yadav also contributed to the discussion, alleging widespread corruption among various organizations and public figures.

In response to the Opposition's accusations, Uttar Pradesh Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar took aim at the Congress party, questioning why no actions were taken during their prolonged rule.

He remarked, "When your party was in power, why did you authorize their operations? You should have revoked their recognition. For 60 years, your party overlooked these issues. Now that you are in opposition at the Centre, you suddenly notice corruption."

BJP State Spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo dismissed Kharge’s accusations, labeling them unfounded and a reflection of frustration. He stated that the RSS has consistently worked to promote nationalist and Sanatan values, advising that such claims should be disregarded.
