Kickoff of the Vibrant 'Know Your Army' Mela at Golconda Fort

Hyderabad, Jan 3 (NationPress) The 'Know Your Army' Mela 2025, which aims to display the strength, bravery, and technological advancements of the Indian Army, was officially inaugurated by Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma at the historic Golconda Fort on Friday.
This three-day event is organized under the auspices of Headquarters Telangana and Andhra Sub Area (HQ TASA) and is coordinated by the Artillery Centre, Hyderabad.
The Governor inaugurated the event in the presence of Maj Gen Ajay Misra, General Officer Commanding, TASA, along with other senior officials.
The event is open to the public daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is designed to inspire and motivate citizens, particularly the youth. It showcases state-of-the-art military equipment, operational capabilities, and indigenous innovations.
The venue, Golconda Fort, provides a historic and majestic backdrop, adding to the event's significance, as highlighted in a Defence release.
After the inauguration, the Governor toured the venue, engaging with Army personnel and observing the wide range of equipment and displays.
The mela features an extensive showcase of artillery guns, communication systems, NBC (Nuclear, Biological, Chemical) warfare suits, and indigenous military innovations.
Noteworthy highlights of the event included live demonstrations, such as a stunning Gatka performance by Punjab Regiment soldiers, showcasing traditional Sikh martial arts.
Soldiers from the Artillery Centre further enhanced the excitement with an impressive display of unarmed combat martial arts, reflecting their discipline and expertise.
The Symphony and Pipe Band captivated the audience with their stirring melodies. Visitors also had the chance to engage in interactive zones, including recruitment booths, offering insights into Army careers, along with photo opportunities featuring artillery equipment and soldier uniforms.
Exhibits showcasing Army uniforms, gallantry awards, and tales of valor enriched the experience even further.
On its opening day, the mela attracted an overwhelming number of visitors, with thousands flocking to the venue.
The event has already sparked a wave of enthusiasm and patriotism among the citizens.
