Bengaluru, Aug 19 (NationPress) The Karnataka BJP has urged the Siddaramaiah administration to guarantee justice for all 101 castes included in the Scheduled Castes category.
This request arises as the Congress-led government is set to convene a special cabinet meeting to deliberate on the findings of the "Internal Reservation" report presented by the Justice (Retired) H.N. Nagamohan Das Commission.
While addressing the media at Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru on Tuesday, BJP state president and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra called upon the Chief Minister to ensure that no caste experiences injustice during the implementation of internal reservation among the 101 Scheduled Castes (SCs).
He stated to CM Siddaramaiah, “As the Chief Minister of the state, you must make a decisive move regarding internal reservation. With 101 castes within the SC community, the resolution must ensure that none face injustice. The choice you make should not incite protests from any caste or SC group tomorrow. All factors should be meticulously evaluated, and a suitable conclusion should be reached by the Chief Minister.”
Responding to a query, Vijayendra declared, “The confusion surrounding internal reservation is primarily due to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. It is his responsibility to resolve these confusions and issues. Our SC community anticipates that he will address this matter appropriately.”
He criticized the Congress-led administration, stating, “Since the Congress government under Siddaramaiah has taken office, no decision regarding internal reservation has been made. The government is mired in confusion, which is evident.”
Vijayendra reminisced, “When the BJP government led by Basavaraj Bommai was in power, SC reservation increased from 15 percent to 17 percent, and ST reservation grew from 3 percent to 7 percent. At that time, Siddaramaiah, who was the Opposition leader, along with his associates, circulated misinformation claiming it was not implemented and accused the BJP of mere rhetoric. The BJP executed the Nagamohan Das Commission report. Now, Siddaramaiah has called for a special cabinet meeting, but in reality, he is merely attempting to replicate what the BJP had previously achieved.”
In response to a question about the Dharmasthala case, Vijayendra inquired, “Who is orchestrating the ongoing misinformation campaign against Dharmasthala? Whose conspiracy is at play? Such a scheme cannot remain hidden for long.”
He continued, “Regarding the Dharmasthala matter, misinformation has circulated, and efforts have been made to damage religious feelings. If the state government has even a modicum of faith in Dharmasthala and Lord Manjunatheshwara, it must investigate and unveil the forces behind these actions.”
Vijayendra questioned, “Previously, in Mysuru, one of our Hindu activists was apprehended within 24 hours for a social media post concerning another religion. A community stormed a police station and even set it ablaze. In Tumakuru, a Hindu woman activist was arrested for a social media post. Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar now professes his faith in Dharmasthala. However, why did the Chief Minister, the Dy CM, and the Home Minister fail to halt the misinformation campaign as it transpired?”
“Why have FIRs not been filed against the groups propagating false narratives? Why has the state government not taken immediate action when Hindu religious sentiments were jeopardized? The government must provide answers to these inquiries,” he insisted.
