New Delhi, Nov 26 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi honored the architects of the Constitution, emphasizing that their foresight will guide India toward achieving a 'Viksit Bharat'.
Constitution Day, also referred to as Samvidhan Divas, is observed annually on November 26, marking the Constituent Assembly's adoption of the Constitution that became effective on January 26, 1950. Officially recognized in 2015, this day celebrates the values of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity embedded in our Constitution.
In a message shared on X, PM Modi remarked, "On Constitution Day, we honor the visionaries behind our Constitution. Their insight and wisdom continue to inspire us as we strive for a Viksit Bharat."
"Our Constitution places the highest value on human dignity, equality, and freedom. While it grants us rights, it also reminds us of our obligations as citizens, which we must consistently strive to fulfill. These responsibilities form the bedrock of a robust democracy," he added.
The Prime Minister urged citizens to renew their commitment to upholding Constitutional principles through their actions.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also conveyed his greetings on this significant occasion, paying tribute to the Constitution's architects, including Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
"On this Constitution Day, I pay homage to Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Ji, Dr. Rajendra Prasad Ji, and all esteemed members of the Constituent Assembly, extending my warm wishes to fellow citizens on this day," Shah posted on X.
"The Constitution of India, the world's largest democracy, offers every citizen equal opportunities, dignity in life, and rights and responsibilities, thereby laying the foundation for effective nation-building," he added.
Shah also acknowledged the Prime Minister's efforts to promote awareness of democratic values among citizens.
Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda expressed his congratulations to the people on Constitution Day, highlighting its role in providing justice, truth, freedom, and equality.
"Our Constitution, crafted by Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Ji, embodies the essence of India and the strength of its democracy, ensuring equal rights for all citizens while safeguarding those rights and fostering opportunities for advancement," he stated.
