Bengaluru, Aug 19 (NationPress) Karnataka BJP MP Kota Srinivas Poojary has reached out to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, urging an Enforcement Directorate (ED) investigation into the foreign financial support received by certain individuals and YouTubers linked to the mass grave controversy.
In his correspondence to HM Shah, Poojary emphasized, "A conspiracy is being orchestrated against the Dharmasthala Manjunatha Swamy temple situated in the Mangaluru district. I urge for an ED inquiry into the foreign funding associated with these individuals, including YouTubers, who are undermining Hindu religious sentiments."
He further elaborated, "As reported nationally, a faction opposing the Dharmasthala Manjunatha Swamy temple has been attempting to tarnish its sanctity. The state's Deputy Chief Minister has publicly indicated that a conspiracy is underway against this temple."
Poojary noted, "The Minister overseeing Mangaluru district (Dinesh Gundu Rao) has informed the media that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been established at the behest of left-wing factions. The Chief Minister of Karnataka, Siddaramaiah, has allegedly set up an SIT based on the claims of an unidentified accuser, leading to a perception that the entire government has capitulated to this accuser."
He expressed concern over indiscriminate digging, even at the base of the venerated Hindu deity Bahubali, which has disturbed devotees. Reports indicate that a Tamil Nadu politician is pressuring the Congress leadership to devise a strategy aimed at eroding Hindu faith in Karnataka, Poojary claimed.
In addition, there are allegations that a Muslim YouTuber and his associates, who are allegedly attempting to defame the temple, have received foreign funds, which Poojary argues is indicative of a broader attack on the Manjunatha Swamy temple.
Poojary concluded his letter with an appeal: "I request you to take my letter seriously and initiate an ED inquiry into the foreign financial assistance received by those opposing the Dharmasthala Manjunatha Swamy."
In a significant update, Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara stated that the investigation into the mass grave case will remain paused until the results of chemical and DNA analyses are available. The SIT has made this decision, he added.
The Karnataka Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has continued to criticize the Congress-led government regarding the mass grave issue, asserting that the SIT established to investigate the Dharmasthala case is a conspiracy orchestrated by the party.
The Leader of the Opposition, R. Ashoka, stated in Bengaluru, "The Dharmasthala SIT is a Congress conspiracy, scripted by ultra-leftists and executed by the Siddaramaiah government."
Veerendra Heggade, the Dharmadhikari of the renowned Dharmasthala temple and BJP Rajya Sabha member, responded to the ongoing controversies surrounding the mass grave allegations, asserting that there is an effort to distract youth from faith. Heggade remarked, "We welcome any inquiry, but the misleading communications through social media have created significant confusion, particularly among the youth."
He added, "Those raising allegations aim to divert youth from their faith. Such messages have caused unrest among young people. I believe this is a deeply concerning issue."
