Bengaluru, Dec 23 (NationPress) The Karnataka Lokayukta conducted synchronized raids on the residences and workplaces of various government officials across multiple districts in Karnataka on Tuesday. This action was prompted by allegations of corruption and the accumulation of assets that are inconsistent with their declared income, as stated in an official release.

The operations spanned across the state and were initiated in response to complaints regarding disproportionate asset cases lodged against four government officials at Lokayukta Police Stations located in Bagalakote, Vijayapura, Karwar, and Raichuru districts.

In total, searches were executed at over 17 locations, including the residences and offices of the accused government officials’ relatives.

During these searches, it was discovered that they had amassed a total value of disproportionate assets amounting to Rs 19.20 crore (Rs 19,20,79,508).

The raids targeted: Shamasundar Maruthi Kamble, Assistant Secretary of the Zilla Panchayat in Bagalakote District; Mallappa Hanamanthappa Yarazari, Assistant Director of the Agriculture Department in Basavanabagewadi, Vijayapura District; Maruthi Yashwanth Malvi, Chief Executive Officer of the Kolsiri Cooperative Society in Siddapur, Karwar District; and D Vijayalakshmi, Assistant Executive Engineer in the Rural Drinking Water Supply and Sanitary Department, Sindhanuru Sub-Division, Raichuru District.

In Bagalakote district, four locations associated with Shamasundar Maruthi Kamble were searched, uncovering assets valued at Rs 2.04 crore, including three sites and ₹28.26 lakh worth of jewelry.

In Vijayapura district, four locations linked to Mallappa Hanamanthappa Yarazari were raided, revealing immovable assets worth Rs 1.71 crore, comprising three sites, two houses, and 20.03 acres of agricultural land, in addition to movable assets valued at ₹85.99 lakh, including ₹86.47 lakh in jewelry.

Four locations tied to Maruthi Yashwanth Malvi in Karwar district were also searched, revealing immovable assets valued at Rs 9.17 crore, which included seven sites, four houses, and one commercial complex, alongside movable assets worth ₹72.24 lakh.

The Lokayukta officials conducted searches at five locations belonging to D. Vijayalakshmi in Raichuru district, unearthing immovable assets worth Rs 3.68 crore, including 12 sites, two houses, and 73.31 acres of agricultural land, as well as movable assets valued at ₹40.82 lakh.
