Karnataka Lokayukta Conducts Raids at Over 10 Locations in Asset Disproportion Case

Bengaluru, Dec 10 (NationPress) The Karnataka Lokayukta has initiated raids at over 10 locations throughout Karnataka, including Bengaluru, as part of an investigation into a case of disproportionate assets.

The operations are currently taking place at the residences of officials linked to the BBMP, Bescom, Health, Excise, and police departments.

According to Lokayukta sources, these raids are a result of intelligence regarding the accumulation of disproportionate wealth and significant illegal monetary transactions by certain officers.

Sources indicate that the raids are targeting the homes and offices of over 10 senior government officials in Bengaluru, Bengaluru Rural, Gadag, Kalaburagi, Raichur, and Chitradurga districts.

There was considerable drama when the Lokayukta team arrived at the residence of a District Health Officer (DHO) in the Manjunathnagar area of Bengaluru early in the morning. The officer and his family members resisted opening the door for several hours.

Reports suggest that the Lokayukta team had to wait from 6 a.m. until 10 a.m. When the officer finally opened the door, the Lokayukta personnel commenced their search and seizure operations.

The Lokayukta team also raided the home of an Inspector from the Excise Department in Koppal. The investigators had received information regarding the inspector's accumulation of wealth that was disproportionate to his official income.

Simultaneous raids are being conducted at his office and a farmhouse located in Tammaraguddi village. The teams, led by Lokayukta Superintendent of Police (SP) M.N. Shashidhar, have reportedly uncovered substantial amounts of cash and gold items during the raids.

Raids are also taking place at the residence of an engineer affiliated with Bengaluru Electricity Supply Company (Bescom) in the Banaswadi area of Bengaluru.

Additionally, the residence of an inspector from the Revenue Department in Bengaluru is under scrutiny.

The home of a Deputy SP connected to the Karnataka State Police Training School in Channapatna was also raided.

Further raids are ongoing at the residences of the Second Division Assistant (SDA) in Gadag, Kalaburagi City Corporation Engineer, and Deputy Forest Conservator.

As of now, the Lokayukta has not issued an official statement regarding these raids.

Further updates are anticipated.
