Bengaluru, July 29 (NationPress) The Karnataka Lokayukta has initiated a series of raids across four districts on Tuesday, focusing on government officials allegedly involved in accumulating wealth that exceeds their known income sources.
Sources reveal that operations are currently taking place in the districts of Hassan, Chikkaballapura, Chitradurga, and Bengaluru Urban.
Authorities are inspecting properties owned by an Executive Engineer of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) in Hassan, a Junior Engineer from the Rural Drinking Water and Sanitation Department in Chikkaballapura, and a Taluk Health Officer in Hiriyur town of Chitradurga district.
Additionally, raids are being conducted at the residence of a Revenue Officer associated with the Dasarahalli Sub-Division of the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) and a Senior Assistant Director of Horticulture stationed at the Bengaluru Development Authority (BDA) Head Office.
The operations commenced simultaneously early this morning.

Previously, on July 23, Lokayukta agents conducted searches linked to a senior Karnataka IAS officer, who was discovered to possess over Rs 9 crore in assets that were disproportionate to her income. Five properties were searched, revealing ownership of three sites, four houses, and three acres of agricultural land, collectively valued at around Rs 7.40 crore.
The searches also uncovered Rs 66,390 in cash, jewelry worth Rs 12 lakh, vehicles valued at Rs 90 lakh, and other household items worth Rs 65 lakh.
On June 24, the Karnataka Lokayukta executed search operations at 45 locations statewide concerning disproportionate asset complaints against eight government officers, uncovering assets worth Rs 34.90 crore.
Earlier, on May 31, multiple raids occurred across seven districts targeting several government officials.
On May 15, the Lokayukta investigated over 35 locations connected to seven officials in Bengaluru city, Bengaluru Rural, Tumakuru, Mangaluru, Vijayapura, and Yadgir districts, discovering disproportionate assets valued at Rs 22.7 crore.
Earlier in the year, on January 31, the Lokayukta raided locations in Bengaluru, Belagavi, Chitradurga, Raichur, and Bagalkot districts linked to cases involving officials accused of acquiring illegal assets.
