KTR Claims Corruption Charges Are Politically Motivated

Hyderabad, Jan 7 (NationPress) Describing the corruption allegations leveled against him as politically motivated, K.T. Rama Rao, the working president of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), accused the ruling Congress party in Telangana of attempting to divert public attention from its governance shortcomings through false propaganda.

In a conversation with reporters on Tuesday night, he revealed that he has lodged an appeal with the Supreme Court concerning the High Court's decision, which dismissed his petition to quash the Formula-E race case.

Affirming his status as a law-abiding citizen, Rao expressed his commitment to fight the case using legal and constitutional means.

"This Formula E case against me is politically motivated and devoid of merit. Aware of the groundless nature of the allegations, I chose to participate in the ACB inquiry as a responsible citizen. I had indicated that I would appear with my attorney; however, after waiting for half an hour, the ACB officials did not proceed to question me,” he stated.

KTR emphasized his willingness to cooperate with all investigations, including those involving the ACB and ED.

“I have nothing to conceal and will respond to all inquiries. My integrity is my greatest asset,” he asserted. He mentioned that he intends to approach the High Court to guarantee that any questioning occurs in the presence of his legal counsel.

KTR criticized the Congress party for celebrating merely the dismissal of a quash petition in the High Court.

“The High Court only dismissed the quash petition, yet Congress leaders are celebrating as though I have been convicted or found guilty of a crime,” he remarked. The BRS leader indicated that he would utilize every legal right at his disposal to combat the frivolous and politically motivated allegations brought forth by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.

“While Congress is focused on Formula E, our priority is the farmers. We advocate for Rythu Bharosa (farmer support) while Revanth Reddy engages in distractions. We are aware of the mischief he is orchestrating,” KTR noted, also underscoring the Congress party's alleged inability to fulfill its promises.

“Instead of addressing the issues facing farmers and citizens, Congress is preoccupied with diversionary tactics. Their six guarantees remain unmet, leaving farmers and pensioners in a state of distress.”

KTR reiterated that the Formula E event in Hyderabad aims to establish the city as a global hub for innovation and sustainable technology.

“Our vision is to position Hyderabad as a center for electric vehicle manufacturing, which will generate jobs and attract investment,” he elaborated.
