KTR Prepared to Legally Address Formula E Race Allegations

Hyderabad, Dec 17 (NationPress) Just days after the Telangana Cabinet authorized the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) to proceed with actions against Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K. T. Rama Rao in connection with the Formula E race case, the ex-minister expressed his preparedness to confront the situation legally on Tuesday.
Rama Rao took to the social media platform 'X' to share his thoughts on the Cabinet's decision, which followed Governor Jishnu Dev Varma's approval to prosecute the BRS leader under Section 17A of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
Referring to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy as 'Chitti Naidu', the BRS leader suggested that his 'negotiations with BJP in Delhi are bearing fruit'.
KTR, as Rama Rao is often called, remarked that the Chief Minister has been unable to secure even three paise for the state despite visiting Delhi 30 times, yet seems to derive pleasure from filing three cases against him.
'Good luck Chitti Naidu & Co. I will confront you legally. Bring it on,' KTR tweeted.
In another message, the former minister responded to a prior tweet from Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah regarding the display of F4 cars in Bengaluru. 'Wow Nice! So is this also a scam? I wonder!' KTR posted.
'Great showcase of the F4 cars on the roads of Bengaluru. We welcome this initiative to promote our city through motorsports, and look forward to collaborating with Racing Promotions on similar events!' Siddaramaiah had tweeted on May 19.
Information and Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy disclosed on Monday that the Governor has approved proceeding against KTR in the case.
The minister mentioned that the Chief Secretary will send the file, signed by the Governor, to the ACB for further proceedings.
Last month, the Congress-led government requested the Governor's authorization for the ACB to file a case against KTR for alleged abuse of power and misappropriation of funds related to the Formula E race.
Allegations have surfaced that KTR, during his tenure as Industry Minister, allocated funds for the race without adhering to established protocols.
The Congress government claims that the previous administration organized the race to benefit a particular company.
The former government agreed to compensate the company with Rs 110 crore, with Rs 55 crore already disbursed, and the remaining amount scheduled for payment in two installments.
Formula E announced the cancellation of the second Formula E race (Season 10) planned for Hyderabad on February 10.
This decision was made after the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department (MAUD) of the Telangana government failed to adhere to the Host City Agreement signed on October 30, 2023.
Formula E Operations (FEO) declared it had no choice but to formally notify MAUD of the breach of contract.
