Mysuru, Feb 24 (NationPress) In response to the Karnataka Lokayukta's exoneration of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) case, Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel H.D. Kumaraswamy asserted that the Lokayukta report has been manipulated for the benefit of Siddaramaiah.
During a press briefing in Mysuru, the Union Minister remarked, "The facts surrounding the MUDA case are evident. The documents reveal the truth."
He proceeded to criticize the Lokayukta, implying that the agency requires divine intervention after presenting a 'B Report' (closure report) to the court concerning the initial four accused in the MUDA scandal.
Among those implicated, Siddaramaiah ranks first, followed by his wife B.M. Parvathi and brother-in-law Mallikarjunaswamy.
"The Chief Minister has tailored the Lokayukta report to align with his interests. This case will never reach a proper resolution due to government interference at every investigation phase. We are facing harassment for voicing our concerns. For the first time in our state's history, an IAS Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been established to probe our land issues, comprising five IAS officers," he claimed.
"Forty years ago, while I was a film distributor in Mysuru, I diligently worked to acquire that land. Now, they allege that I have encroached upon 14 acres. I had previously requested them to conduct a survey and reclaim the land if any encroachment was found. I even wrote to request an investigation, which was disregarded, leading to four decades of harassment," he stated.
He noted that the government itself admits to lacking original documents and remarked on the sudden emergence of new claimants.
“Who are these newcomers? What is their origin? Who introduced them? I possess all the pertinent information. Let them conduct an international survey; I am unafraid. Is CM Siddaramaiah a contemporary Satya Harishchandra? What about the Hinakal Sakamma land dispute? What connections does CM Siddaramaiah have to it?” he questioned.
Condemning the assault on Kannadigas in Belagavi, the Union Minister criticized the state government, questioning, "Whom is this government safeguarding?"
When asked about the caste census report, Kumaraswamy stated, "No one visited my residence to conduct a caste census," in reference to a comment made by Channagiri Congress MLA.
"The caste census report has been concealed for an extended period. The government possesses the report but is unwilling to disclose it, instead leaking selective information to the media. Are you venerating the report?" he remarked.
