Patna, Sep 11 (NationPress) RJD National President Lalu Prasad Yadav launched a critical attack on the BJP on Thursday, just ahead of the upcoming state Assembly elections scheduled for the end of this year. He also took aim at Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding various pressing issues.
Lalu Prasad Yadav shared a photo of PM Modi on his X account, captioning it with, “When will you come to Bihar to recite the Jumla?”
PM Modi is expected to visit Bihar on September 15 to inaugurate the newly built Purnea airport and unveil development projects valued in the thousands of crores.
During this visit, he will speak to a large audience, joined by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and other officials.
Yadav and other RJD representatives have frequently accused the Prime Minister of utilizing “jumla” before his Bihar tours.
During Modi’s prior visit to Gaya on August 22, Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav circulated a caricature dubbing him “Jumle-ji,” alluding to promises such as creating 2 crore jobs, ensuring women’s safety, and depositing Rs 15 lakh into bank accounts as mere jumlas.
This post led to legal challenges for Tejashwi, with BJP leaders lodging complaints in Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh for purportedly insulting the Prime Minister.
Responding to this, Tejashwi stated, “Neither my father, Lalu Yadav, nor I am afraid of these FIRs.”
Tejashwi has also criticized the state government’s handling of law and order, especially following the murder of an RJD leader in Patna.
“In this so-called double-engine government, incidents of murder, robbery, and dacoity are escalating. Criminals are being protected by those in power. Over 100 murders have occurred without any repercussions. Today, criminals reign supreme,” he asserted.
Meanwhile, the BJP and NDA leaders are gearing up for a show of strength during the Prime Minister's visit, which will coincide with the inauguration of the long-demanded Purnea airport.
