Hyderabad, Oct 22 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Telangana, A. Revanth Reddy, along with leaders from multiple political factions, came together on Wednesday to pay their heartfelt respects to the famed tribal martyr Komaram Bheem on the occasion of his birth anniversary.
CM Revanth Reddy celebrated the legacy of the tribal deity revered by the Adivasi Girijans, stating that this legendary warrior serves as a beacon of inspiration for ongoing struggles for existence and dignity.
Former Vice President of India, M. Venkaiah Naidu, remarked that Komaram Bheem sparked a sense of freedom among the Gonds with the impactful slogan 'Jal, Jungle, Zameen', fighting tirelessly for tribal rights.
“I honor the memory of this great individual. His fight was not solely for freedom but also aimed at establishing a society devoid of discrimination. The most fitting tribute to him is to create a New India, free from poverty, hunger, discrimination, and corruption. I trust that the youth, inspired by his spirit, will take an active role in building a developed India that rejects discrimination,” Venkaiah Naidu shared on X.
Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development, Danasari Seethakka, expressed her tribute on X, stating, “The self-respect emerging from the depths of Mother Forest... A banner of resistance raised for Adivasi rights... On this auspicious occasion of Sri Komaram Bheem's birth anniversary, I extend my heartfelt tributes to this remarkable soul.”
Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao referred to Komaram as a tribal warrior and a symbol of rebellion.
He noted that BRS governance under KCR is inspired by Komaram Bheem's motto of 'Jal, Jungle, Zameen'. “We are progressing toward fulfilling his dreams. Initiatives such as increasing ST Gurukuls and colleges, offering Ambedkar Overseas Scholarships, and training tribal youth to become industrialists through the CMSTEI program all draw inspiration from Komaram Bheem. Numerous such programs have been launched,” he explained.
KTR also highlighted that during BRS leadership, the Asifabad region was named after Komaram Bheem, and a grand memorial was erected in Jodeghat, along with an Adivasi Bhavan in Hyderabad named in his honor.
Leader of Telangana Jagruthi, K. Kavitha, stated that Komaram Bheem dedicated his life to advocating for Adivasi rights. The Telangana movement gained momentum through his rallying call and unyielding spirit.
