Neeraj joined the Indian Army as a junior commissioned officer, holding the rank of naib subedar, on August 26, 2016, and has served with The Rajputana Rifles. He made history by becoming the first Indian athlete to clinch an Olympic gold medal in track and field during the Tokyo Olympics in 2020.
