Bengaluru, Oct 28 (NationPress) The Karnataka BJP president and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra declared that the ongoing struggle for leadership within the ruling Congress has escalated into a public spectacle, asserting that the state government has entirely lost its grip on administrative matters.
In a statement to the press in Bengaluru, Vijayendra remarked, “The chaotic situation unfolding in the Congress, with ministers making conflicting statements daily, is a clear indication that Karnataka's administrative system is in disarray. Trust in this government has eroded.”
He pointed out that the BJP had forecasted significant political changes for October and November, and those predictions are now materializing. “Home Minister G. Parameshwara himself has acknowledged that the internal conflicts within Congress have paralyzed the administration. What more proof do we need?” Vijayendra questioned.
He accused cabinet members of openly vying for the Chief Minister’s position, noting that both Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar have publicly recognized the existing divisions.
“The citizens of Karnataka are indifferent about whether Siddaramaiah remains in power or D.K. Shivakumar takes over. Their primary concern is effective governance, and this government has let them down,” Vijayendra asserted.
The BJP state leader criticized the Congress administration for its inattention to farmers' hardships, arguing that no assistance package has been announced despite the BJP-led Maharashtra government already providing relief to farmers.
“All BJP MLAs have visited the Kalyana Karnataka region, and the situation is dire. During former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa’s regime, relief funds were disbursed promptly. Isn’t it this government’s duty to support the farmers?” he pressed.
Vijayendra also highlighted a troubling rise in suicides among farmers and government employees, while the state's economy is under pressure, and the government is reportedly “struggling to pay salaries.”
He criticized the government for postponing elections for Bengaluru civic and Zilla Panchayat, claiming that the Congress has failed to launch any new initiatives beyond its pre-election promises.
Regarding accusations of misconduct involving Speaker U.T. Khader, Vijayendra mentioned discussions with senior party leader and MP Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri, labeling the situation as “serious.”
“Corruption has reached unprecedented levels in the state -- spanning from the finance department to the ST Development Corporation. Karnataka has turned into an ATM for the Congress high command,” he alleged.
