Ballari, Jan 17 (NationPress) In a dramatic response to the recent violence in Ballari, Karnataka BJP MLA Gali Janardhana Reddy, his spouse Aruna Laxmi, and loyal aide B. Sriramulu have launched a fierce critique against the Congress-led state government and local Congress MLA Nara Bharath Reddy. The unrest, which resulted in the shooting of a Congress worker, hints at escalating political tensions in the area.
The trio made their remarks during a protest rally aimed at demanding a CBI investigation into the Ballari incident and the swift arrest of MLA Nara Bharath Reddy.
Aruna Laxmi initiated the discourse by condemning perceived attempts on her husband's life. "My husband has the blessings of Lord Hanuman and the BJP. Your aspirations to harm him will remain unfulfilled," she declared.
"I don't even wish to mention his (Congress MLA Bharath Reddy's) name. He questions my husband's seniority. Experience outweighs age," she continued.
"Mr. Bharath Reddy, my husband has been instrumental in uplifting many like you socially and economically. Who are you? Your position arose from internal strife," Aruna asserted.
"I will refer to you as a rowdy MLA since you came to my residence with a multitude of thugs, openly stating there are numerous ways to eliminate Janardhana Reddy and that you could destroy his home in five minutes. Yet, Bharath Reddy, my husband's support comes from Lord Hanuman and the BJP. Your ambitions to harm him will remain unrealized," she reiterated.
"We can label Bharath Reddy as mad. He claims he was born privileged. I must pose a question: you betrayed your own father and seized his granite business. You have wronged his three daughters. They have sought help from everyone, from the Deputy Commissioner to the Governor and the President. Today, I declare, with their tears, your political journey is nearing its end," she stated.
"You lack comprehension of hunger. Those unaware of its significance engage in trivial politics. You were elected from Ballari, yet you threaten to set the city ablaze. Bharath Reddy, you embody a rowdy, a goonda, and an arrogant individual. What more can the public anticipate from you?" she concluded.
"Janardhana Reddy envisions making Ballari the second-largest city after Bengaluru, while you foster matka, gambling centers, and groupism, nurturing rowdies. Your own worker was slain in a shootout by your private gunman. You claim an innocent life was lost; it was not a sacrifice; your affiliates executed him," she charged.
"Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar expresses support for MLA Bharath Reddy. Hence, the state government cannot assure justice in this matter. They will evade punishment. I urge the state government to detain Bharath Reddy and assign the case to the CBI," she insisted.
During the rally, Gali Janardhana Reddy remarked, "Due to our differences, Congress ascended to power. Now, criminals aim to extinguish us. Sonia Gandhi and Siddaramaiah incarcerated me for four years, yet no one could eliminate me."
"Despite their attempts to torment me, I prevailed. Congress MLA Bharath Reddy approached with armed men, assaulted me, and launched petrol bombs. Even after 15 days since the incident, he remains unarrested. The local police are complicit," he claimed.
"My father served as a police constable wielding a lathi. Ballari is now a gambling hub, and criminals flourish," he asserted.
Criticizing Deputy Chief Minister Shivakumar for suggesting Janardhana Reddy arrange his own security, he questioned Shivakumar's purpose in his role.
"The entire state has devolved into a 'Republic of Congress'. A Congress worker was shot at point-blank range while fleeing amidst petrol bomb hurling and gunfire. MLA Bharath Reddy is responsible for his murder. He must be arrested within 24 hours," BJP MLA Reddy demanded.
Former Minister B. Sriramulu stated that the protest was not solely for Janardhana Reddy's protection but for the safeguarding of the Kalyana Karnataka region.
Identifying MLA Bharath Reddy and police officers who allegedly conspired with him, Sriramulu vowed to pursue them relentlessly, regardless of where they might hide.
He emphasized that, following the assassination attempt on both himself and Janardhana Reddy, he would not remain silent.
He also stated that the BJP would secure governance in Karnataka once the state Assembly elections take place.
Former MLA Gali Somashekara Reddy, Janardhana Reddy's brother, stated, "Mr. Nara Bharath Reddy, you are young. You threatened to incinerate the entire Ballari city. Consequently, you are now labeled a goonda. Is this how you wish to be perceived? You have transformed into a goonda MLA."
