The visit will include a magnificent 20-kilometre-long roadshow, numerous inauguration ceremonies, and the prestigious DMK General Council meeting on June 1, marking its return to the temple city after nearly four decades.

In preparation for this significant event, the Madurai Corporation and the Highways Department have conducted thorough patchwork and maintenance on essential routes, such as the Aruppukottai Main Road, ensuring a seamless experience for the roadshow.

The Chief Minister is slated to arrive on Saturday afternoon and will kick off the roadshow at New Jail Road, moving through areas including Mandela Nagar, Avaniyapuram, Jaihindpuram, and Arapalayam.

During the event at New Jail Road, Stalin will unveil a bronze statue of former Madurai Mayor S. Muthu, a respected DMK leader known for his pivotal role in the city’s development.

Additionally, two newly constructed bridges will be inaugurated during the Chief Minister's visit.

Extensive security and crowd management measures have been established along the 20-kilometre route. DMK flags are prominently displayed on either side of the road, and barricades have been set up to control the anticipated crowds.

On Sunday, Chief Minister Stalin will attend the DMK's General Council meeting at Uthangudi, arriving from the Circuit House via another roadshow, with party members expected to gather along the route to welcome him.

"This is a historic occasion," stated a senior DMK official.
