The evening's highlight occurred at the railway roundabout, where Stalin unveiled a life-sized bronze statue of the former Chief Minister and DMK stalwart M. Karunanidhi. This statue has been erected by the DMK’s district unit to honor the legacy of their iconic leader in his birthplace.
Before this public event, the Chief Minister visited the Kalaignar Kottam memorial complex in Kattur, where he toured the library and museum dedicated to Karunanidhi’s memory.
Stalin also paid floral tributes at the memorial of Karunanidhi's mother, Anjugam Ammaiyar, situated within the same complex. Senior ministers, including K.N. Nehru and Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, attended the ceremonies, alongside local leaders, party members, and the public.
On Thursday (July 10), Chief Minister Stalin is slated to participate in a government event near the new bus stand at S.S. Nagar in Tiruvarur. He will inaugurate various completed infrastructure projects and lay the groundwork for new initiatives.
As part of the government’s welfare programs, the Chief Minister is also set to distribute benefits to numerous individuals from various sectors, including women’s development, rural development, and social welfare.
Following the official program, Stalin will leave Tiruvarur and travel by road to Thanjavur. He is expected to continue to Tiruchirapalli and catch a flight back to Chennai, wrapping up his two-day visit to the Cauvery delta region.
This outreach initiative forms part of the DMK’s broader strategy to engage with the public ahead of the upcoming 2026 Assembly elections.
