Chennai, July 9 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M.K. Stalin, will embark on a two-day journey to Tiruvarur starting Wednesday, where he is expected to conduct a roadshow and reveal a bronze statue honoring the late Chief Minister Karunanidhi.
This morning, he will depart from the state capital by flight to Tiruchirapalli, followed by a road trip to Kalaignar Kottam in Kattur, close to Tiruvarur, where he plans to take a short rest. In the evening, the Chief Minister will initiate a grand roadshow, traversing significant sites in Tiruvarur, including Pavithramanickam, Durgalaya Road, South Road, Panagal Road, the old bus stand, and the railway roundabout.
The purpose of the roadshow is to engage with the community in advance of a series of official duties. A key feature of the evening will be the unveiling of a life-sized bronze statue of the late Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi at the railway roundabout.
The statue installation has been carried out by the local unit of the DMK.
Afterward, CM Stalin will head to his family home on Sannathi Street, where he will spend the night. On the second day, he will leave Sannathi Street and participate in a government event near the new bus stand in S.S. Nagar.
During this event, the Chief Minister will inaugurate several completed infrastructure projects and lay the groundwork for additional ones.
Additionally, he plans to distribute welfare assistance to thousands of beneficiaries across various government sectors. This initiative is a vital aspect of the DMK government’s ongoing outreach to the public.
Once his official responsibilities are fulfilled, CM Stalin will make his way back to Tiruchirapalli via Thanjavur before boarding a flight back to Chennai. To welcome his visit, a large arch has been constructed near the Tiruvarur railway overbridge, and a grand stage has been arranged for the welfare assistance distribution.
The local administration has put extensive arrangements in place to ensure the smooth execution of events throughout this two-day visit. Security measures have been heightened, and the roads along CM Stalin’s route have been designated as a “red zone” by the Tiruvarur District Police. The use of drones or remotely piloted aircraft systems (RPAS) has been prohibited during the Chief Minister's movements.
