Mumbai, July 17 (NationPress) Maharashtra's Minister of State for Women and Child Development, Meghna Bordikar-Sakore, announced on Thursday that the initiative to eliminate educational fees and charges for orphaned children residing on the land of individuals with disabilities will be put into effect without delay.
The Minister addressed a half-hour discussion in the Assembly under Rule 94.
The Samajwadi Party legislator, Rais Sheikh, had initiated a motion for a half-hour dialogue regarding job reservations for orphans.
Minister Bordikar-Sakore emphasized that a new standard operating procedure will be established to ensure the effective execution of the childcare scheme.
Moreover, she mentioned that the same benefits will be extended to the eligible children who qualify.
In a related matter, State Medical Education Minister Hasan Mushrif ordered the immediate suspension of the admission process at the Ayurvedic College, Physiotherapy College, and Homeopathy College managed by the Prakash Chandra Jain Multipurpose Institute in Jamner, following a half-hour debate in the Assembly.
Member Vijay Shivtare presented a motion for discussion concerning the operations of the Prakash Chandra Jain Multipurpose Institution in Jamner.
Minister Mushrif stated that the concerns raised by Assembly members regarding this institution's operations are serious.
"Considering the welfare of students enrolled in this college, an inquiry will be conducted within seven days through the Health University to investigate irregularities in the Ayurvedic, Physiotherapy, and Homeopathy colleges of this institution. A hearing will follow in this matter. Additionally, a government-level inquiry will be executed through the Commissioner and Director of Medical Education. Following this investigation, criminal charges will be filed against those found culpable," he added.
State Industry Minister Uday Samant informed the Assembly that the state government will make a favorable decision regarding the 'freehold' of plots that have been transferred from the Pimpri Chinchwad New Town Development Authority to both the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority and the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation.
He was responding to a calling attention motion presented by member Mahesh Landge.
Minister Samant confirmed that the state government has approved the freehold of plots leased by the City and Industrial Development Corporation and Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority, as per the decision dated October 11, 2024.
Similarly, the proposal for freeholding residential plots transferred to the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation has been submitted to the Finance Department along with the Cabinet's observations.
The Finance Department has raised several technical concerns.
The process of resubmitting the proposal is currently underway, incorporating feedback from the Revenue and Forest Department as well as the Law and Justice Department.
Necessary information has been requested from the Municipal Corporation, Minister Samant added.
