Mumbai, Feb 13 (NationPress) Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has urged all governmental departments to enhance their coordination and ensure the prompt completion of various development initiatives to prevent cost overruns. During a meeting of the Project Monitoring Unit (PMU), he emphasized, "Delays often result in substantial increases in project expenses and ultimately lead to financial losses for the state. To avert this, it is crucial to prioritize the timely completion of projects."
He also instructed the administration to liaise with the Union Health Ministry regarding the establishment of AIIMS in Pune.
“The traffic issues in Pune are severe and must be prioritized. The Pune Ring Road project should be fast-tracked to alleviate traffic congestion. With millions of new vehicles being introduced on the roads every year, the pressure on Pune's transportation system continues to rise. The progress of metro projects, flyovers, the ring road, and other ongoing infrastructure developments should be accelerated to facilitate smooth commuting in Pune. All departments involved in these endeavors must work together effectively to relieve Pune residents from traffic woes,” stated Pawar.
Furthermore, he ordered an evaluation of the feasibility of the 'Karjat-Bhimashankar-Khed-Shirur' road, which is pivotal for enhancing connectivity in rural Pune.
Deputy CM Pawar also reviewed the advancements of various projects, including the proposed skywalk in Lonavala, the Pune-Nashik Greenfield Semi High-Speed Railway, regional centers of the Sarathi Institution in multiple cities, and infrastructural initiatives like Satara Medical College, Alibaug Medical College, Satara Sainik School, Rewas-Reddy Coastal Highway, GST Bhavan in Wadala, among other significant projects.
