Nagpur, Dec 12 (NationPress) Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis revealed on Friday that a significant milestone has been reached in the mission to transform Maharashtra into a Global Capability Centre (GCC) Hub.

Brookfield is poised to construct Asia's largest Global Capability Centre in Mumbai, covering around 2 million square feet.

This initiative is projected to create approximately 45,000 jobs, comprising 15,000 direct and 30,000 indirect employment opportunities.

The Chief Minister emphasized that Maharashtra's abundance of talent, robust infrastructure, and a business-friendly atmosphere are positioning it as a prime location for establishing Global Capability Centres.

“The forthcoming GCC policy is expected to facilitate extensive skill-based employment generation and bolster economic growth,” he added.

Additionally, FedEx, a dominant name in logistics, is eager to invest in its GCC and other ventures in the vicinity of the Mumbai-Navi Mumbai airport, according to the government's announcement.

The Chief Minister also mentioned that he has urged Microsoft to contemplate further investments in Maharashtra, highlighting that their most substantial existing investment is already within the state.
