Mumbai, July 11 (NationPress) The Child Development Project Officer has been suspended after being found responsible for irregularities in the recruitment of Anganwadi workers and helpers in the Ghansaganvi Projects 1 and 2, located in Jalna district under the Integrated Child Development Service Scheme. This announcement was made by Minister of State for Women and Child Development Meghna Bordikar-Sakore during a session in the Legislative Assembly on Thursday.
Her remarks came in response to a debate prompted by a calling attention motion from Hikmat Udhan.
According to Minister Bordikar-Sakore, the recruitment process initiated in February 2025 saw the publication of candidate lists in April and May. Following complaints from residents regarding these lists, the Chief Executive Officer of Jalna established an inquiry committee led by the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Women and Child Development to address the grievances.
The committee conducted a comprehensive investigation and has submitted its findings. Based on this report, the implicated Child Development Project Officer will face suspension due to confirmed wrongdoing, with a departmental inquiry to follow.
Meanwhile, in the state council, Industry Minister Uday Samant addressed issues regarding unauthorized constructions in Pune city, particularly in the Gurwar Peth area. He stated that an urgent hearing will be convened to examine constructions lacking official permits, with orders for demolition to be issued accordingly.
In response to a query from Yogesh Talekar regarding illegal constructions in Pune, Minister Samant clarified that no punitive measures would be taken against authorized constructions, especially those related to religious sites. However, investigations will also target officials who have overlooked unauthorized constructions.
