Mumbai, Feb 26 (NationPress) Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that the state government will soon formalize a partnership with the 'Youth for Jobs' organization to foster employment opportunities for divyang (disabled) youth in Maharashtra.

Initially, the organization will support the government in Vidarbha and North Maharashtra by creating both employment and self-employment avenues.

The state government, along with local district administrations, will extend full backing to this initiative.

CM Fadnavis expressed optimism that local voluntary organizations will also participate actively in the collective upliftment of society.

“The state government is devoted to providing training and job opportunities to disabled youth, ensuring their economic self-reliance. In this effort, registered disabled individuals will receive a Unique Disability ID (UDID) within the next five years, aiding their access to employment and self-employment options. The government is diligently executing schemes aimed at the disabled, while voluntary organizations are also contributing to their advancement,” stated the CM.

He further noted, “The state government is poised to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the 'Youth for Jobs' organization shortly. The initial focus will be on Vidarbha and North Maharashtra to develop employment and self-employment opportunities, with aspirations to broaden this initiative statewide in the future. This will create job openings for disabled youth.”

He mentioned that the government is committed to ensuring that divyangs receive their due entitlements and complete access to the various schemes announced.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has initiated numerous significant schemes and decisions aimed at fulfilling the vision of a 'Developed India'. To boost employment through skill-based education, the Skill Development Department has been established. In this regard, the state government is also making impactful decisions for the youth’s welfare,” he added.

To ensure all divyangs benefit from government programs, an updated database is currently being compiled.

A comprehensive registration drive is underway, issuing UDIDs to registered disabled individuals.

The state government is exerting all efforts to guarantee that disabled individuals access the full range of benefits from both central and state government programs, as outlined in the government release.

As per the government release, the 'Youth for Jobs' organization, established and led by Meera Shenoy, has successfully collaborated with the central government and the Gadchiroli district administration to expand employment opportunities for divyang youth.

Training is customized according to the nature of the disability, while job fairs are organized to link trained individuals with industry requirements.

Companies including Lifestyle International, Aditya Birla Fashion, Reliance Trends, IIFL, Milan Coffee House, HPCL, BPCL, Sahyog Multi-State Credit Cooperative Society, local automobile dealers, and Disha Manpower & Security are among the private sector employers participating in this initiative.

Furthermore, self-employment opportunities are being established for those unable to take up jobs, thereby integrating them into mainstream society. This model will be rolled out across all districts in Maharashtra to generate employment for the disabled, as stated in the government release.
