Mumbai, July 7 (NationPress) Maharashtra's Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis revealed during the state assembly session that a significant recruitment drive for vacant positions will be initiated shortly.
He stated that the state government has set a 150-day target for all departments. This initiative aims to revise the organizational structure, update recruitment regulations, and ensure that recruitment on compassionate grounds achieves a 100% success rate. Following the completion of these tasks, the government will proceed with the mega recruitment.
In response to a motion presented by Bhimrao Keram and others, which urged for the filling of vacant posts in the Scheduled Tribe category, the Chief Minister noted that although the government previously announced plans to recruit 75,000 posts, over one lakh individuals were actually hired.
“Currently, there are 6,860 posts in the Scheduled Tribe category that lack a caste validity certificate, with some individuals waiting for over 20 years. The government has approached these positions with a humanitarian perspective and deemed these posts redundant. While those currently in these roles will not face termination, they also will not receive promotions. These positions will cease to exist once their tenure concludes. According to the Scheduled Tribe point list, not a single reserved post will be left vacant,” he elaborated.
Out of the 6,860 vacant posts in the Scheduled Tribe category, 1,343 have been successfully filled. Efforts to finalize the remaining positions are currently ongoing.
“The government is implementing a blockchain-based system to streamline the issuance of caste validity certificates. This will facilitate easier verification of documents related to caste certificates. Additionally, committees responsible for verifying caste validity certificates are being strengthened. A group of secretaries will be established to expedite and enhance the transparency of the certificate issuance process,” he added.
Furthermore, he mentioned that the Supreme Court has lifted the ban on filling sanitation worker posts through inheritance. Based on the Lad-Page Committee recommendations, the government will take action to fill these roles, along with recruitment for Scheduled Tribe positions in the Public Works Department.
