Mumbai, January 19 (NationPress) The Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra and Shiv Sena leader, Eknath Shinde, stated on Monday that as the Shiv Sena and BJP contested the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation elections under the banner of 'Mahayuti', the next Mayor of Mumbai will be appointed from this alliance.

He also mentioned that in Thane, Kalyan-Dombivli, Ulhasnagar, and other regions where they campaigned together, a Mahayuti Mayor would be designated.

With no single party achieving a decisive majority in the BMC elections, speculations arose as the Shiv Sena relocated its corporators to a luxury hotel. However, Deputy CM Shinde dispelled the uncertainty, affirming that the Mayor for Mumbai will emerge from the Mahayuti.

He emphasized that the people of Mumbai placed their trust in the Sena-BJP alliance and assured that the Shiv Sena will not make decisions that undermine that mandate. Shinde urged residents to disregard any circulating rumors.

Moreover, he clarified that in every Municipal Corporation where the Shiv Sena and BJP contested as an alliance, a Mahayuti Mayor will take office. Consequently, he dismissed any rumors about new political dynamics emerging in Mumbai or elsewhere in Maharashtra, reiterating that the Mayor of Mumbai will represent the Shiv Sena-BJP-RPI Mahayuti.

Previously, Shinde advised the newly elected BMC corporators, who are currently residing in a luxury hotel, that they must convert the opportunity granted by Mumbai's voters into tangible progress.

"Engage with the public, fulfill pending tasks, and devise a clear development strategy to ensure your ward stands out in Mumbai," he urged.

He congratulated the 29 newly elected corporators from Mumbai.

He called for immediate action, stressing that the opportunity must be fully leveraged.

Every corporator should aim to make their ward exemplary in Mumbai. He further instructed them to wake up early and regularly inspect their wards, as stated by the Deputy CM.

"Prioritize public welfare issues like cleanliness, consistent water supply, and effective waste management. A strong focus on cleanliness is essential, and thorough cleaning initiatives should be undertaken to visibly enhance the wards," he pointed out.

"Corporators must develop proposals for significant infrastructure projects, including markets, gymnasiums, and sports complexes. Healthcare services in the wards must be elevated. A Shiv Sena corporator should always be present within the community. Public sentiment should be gauged, and citizens must be involved in developmental efforts," he articulated.

He also instructed corporators never to deny any legitimate work request, ensuring that no citizen feels neglected and that there are no public complaints.

Deputy CM Shinde criticized the Shiv Sena-UBT, asserting that development triumphed in the municipal elections, stating that the public desires progress.

He further directed corporators to diligently follow up on decisions made by the Mahayuti government, including initiatives like Pagdi-free Mumbai and securing occupancy certificates (OC) for eligible buildings. He reiterated that the BJP remains an ally of the Shiv Sena and claimed that the people of Maharashtra have rejected the Shiv Sena-UBT.
