Raipur, May 21 (NationPress) In a significant operation, security forces have successfully neutralised 27 Maoists in Chhattisgarh, prompting Union Home Minister Amit Shah to describe it as a “remarkable milestone in our fight against Naxalism.”
On his X handle, Shah shared the news stating, “Today, during an operation in Narayanpur, Chhattisgarh, our security forces have neutralised 27 notorious Maoists, including Nambala Keshav Rao, alias Basava Raju, who served as the general secretary of CPI-Maoist and was a key figure in the Naxal movement.”
Shah highlighted that this marks the first occasion in three decades that a leader of general secretary rank has been eliminated by the forces. “I commend our courageous security forces and agencies for this significant breakthrough. Additionally, after the conclusion of Operation Black Forest, 54 Naxalites have been apprehended, while 84 have surrendered across Chhattisgarh, Telangana, and Maharashtra.”
